Art shows foster an important sense of community between schools and families, and highlight the importance of the arts in education. Displaying art publicly in an art show helps students see the value of their effort and encourages continued exploration and growth in creative thinking. I always love witnessing students sharing their insights and learning processes about their art with their families, who in turn love learning more about their students.

The activity for the art show was to make collages out of the build-up of student “Oops” papers. The theme was: Turn a Mistake into a Masterpiece! Families loved doing this together.
